The mission of Scanlan Oaks Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization is to provide support and enhancement of the education and welfare of the students of Scanlan Oaks Elementary and to promote open communication among the administration, teachers, parents and community.  The Organizations exists exclusively to promote the charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding section of any future tax code.

**Every Wednesday is "SOE Pride Day."  Students can wear orange & blue until the SOE spirit shirts come in & are delivered.  
*Thurs., Oct. 11th is represent your college day.  Wear college colors/clothes.  Student Flu Shots will be offered at SOE.
*Fri., Oct. 12th is Purple Pride
*Tue, Oct. 16th is Wear It Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
*Thurs., Oct. 18th is Purple Out for RPHS Homecoming.
*Fri., Oct. 19th is a student holiday.  NO SCHOOL.
*The week of Oct. 22nd is Red Ribbon Week

Tues: Wear camouflage
Wed: Wear PJs
Thurs: Wear Red
Fri: Dress in 50s attire and donate socks to Shared Dreams.  SOCKS MUST BE IN NEW PACKAGING TO BE DONATED.

*Oct. 30th-Nov. 1st is Parents & Pastries & the SOE Book Fair will be open in the library.  Parents & Pastries is 6:45-7:50a in the SOE café.

SOE Mentors Needed
We are seeking volunteers for our SOE Mentoring program who can help make a difference in our SOE students’ lives and academics. Some benefits of mentoring are: 
Build a relationship with an SOE student
Improve academic support  
Increase students’ perceptions of academic competence
Flexible daytime scheduling 
Collaborate between the teacher and administrators 
in order to monitor student progress.

To Become a Mentor:
Sign a one-year commitment to meet with one student once a week for the school year.
Time with your student can be spent reading, tutoring, playing games and talking about their interests.
Observe professional standards of confidentiality. 
Stay on the Scanlan Oaks campus with mentee.
A background check is required for the safety of our students.
Must attend a one hour orientation. Mentor training is facilitated at the FBISD Administration Building, 16431 Lexington Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479

We are inviting all SOE Students to enter the Yearbook Cover Art Contest.  One winner will be selected for the front cover and multiple winners may be selected for the back cover.  Click HERE for the contest information.
