The mission of Scanlan Oaks Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization is to provide support and enhancement of the education and welfare of the students of Scanlan Oaks Elementary and to promote open communication among the administration, teachers, parents and community.  The Organizations exists exclusively to promote the charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding section of any future tax code.

April 19: Volunteer Appreciation Lunch 11a-2p (come & go) in the Extended Day Room.

April 21: School Store during 1st-5th Grade Lunches

April 21: School Carnival 5-8pm in the back parking lot.  

April 24: Kindergarten Field Trip

April 27: Welcome Night at SOE for students transferring from Sienna Crossing.

May 2nd: PTO Budget Meeting at 6pm.  All SOE PTO members are invited to vote on the PTO slate and budget for next year.  


 


SOE Mentors Needed
We are seeking volunteers for our SOE Mentoring program who can help make a difference in our SOE students’ lives and academics. Some benefits of mentoring are: 
Build a relationship with an SOE student
Improve academic support  
Increase students’ perceptions of academic competence
Flexible daytime scheduling 
Collaborate between the teacher and administrators 
in order to monitor student progress.

To Become a Mentor:
Sign a one-year commitment to meet with one student once a week for the school year.
Time with your student can be spent reading, tutoring, playing games and talking about their interests.
Observe professional standards of confidentiality. 
Stay on the Scanlan Oaks campus with mentee.
A background check is required for the safety of our students.
Must attend a one hour orientation. Mentor training is facilitated at the FBISD Administration Building, 16431 Lexington Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479
